Despite serious competition we have pitched our way into one of Silicon Valley’s most respected startup incubators – Plug and Play Tech Centre.
Take a tour of our new home at Plug and Play.
Plug and Play is a global innovation platform connecting startups to corporations, with 22 locations across the world. Headquartered in Silicon Valley, Plug and Play has built accelerator programs, corporate innovation services and an in-house VC aimed at giving startups the necessary resources to succeed in Silicon Valley and beyond.
Plug and Play alumni have raised over $7 billion in funding, with successful portfolio exits including Danger, Dropbox, Lending Club, PayPal, SoundHound and Zoosk.
In early March we pitched to a room full of Silicon Valley investors, executives and mentors. The competition was fierce, with hundreds of tech startups ‘speed pitching’ in 5 minute time slots.
After receiving a rare standing ovation for her pitch, our co-founder Kristen Graham was quietly confident that the we would make the final cut - and we did!
During the next three months we will work with Plug and Play's corporate partners and have the chance to land pilots, develop proof of concepts and explore investment opportunities with these companies.
"Plug and Play has been working with startups for twelve years. Our goal is to match startups to corporations based on their interests to create mutually beneficial partnerships that embody the Plug and Play spirit of open innovation. This first batch of 2018 is already exceeding expectations," says Saeed Amidi, Founder and CEO of Plug and Play. "We are excited to welcome these new companies into our ecosystem and make this the most successful year yet."
The Plug and Play internship comes off the back of a three month stint at Austrade's San Francisco Landing Pad. Read about our Landing Pad experience in our recent blog Scaling into the US: Lessons from an Aussie HR Tech startup.
This week we move out of Landing Pad and on to the next stage of our incredible journey, expect to hear more about Silicon Valley and beyond as we continue to explore the market in the US.
