Highlights from UNLEASH America 2019

Written by Cassidy Smith | May 29, 2019

UNLEASH America is the number one gathering place for those who thrive on HR Tech innovation and the workforce revolution. This year's conference in Las Vegas was a dynamic melting pot of ideas, innovation, energy, passion, collaboration, and evolution. With speakers like Esther Perel, Peter Hinssen, Kathryn Minshew and Shakti Jauhar delivering the very latest insights into critical opportunities of the workplace. We’re telling you now, it didn’t disappoint!

Our VP of Growth Kristen Graham and our roaming reporter Steven Kosakow did a fantastic job of capturing some great moments with both speakers and attendees. They met an amazing community of leaders, innovators, influencers and some incredible startups! We’ve pulled together the highlights here for anyone who missed out.

The power of authentic storytelling

Lauryn Sargent, an expert on employee stories shared some great insights into the power of authentic storytelling and why you should be seeking to polarize viewers with your employee stories, not please the masses!

Lauryn is from Stories Incorporated, a company that is doing two things extremely well. First, they uncover powerful stories from your team members about their employee experience - these stories show what’s unique about your company culture. Then, they bring those stories to life through a variety of media and connect them to your brand.

Source of hire is a must when measuring ROI

Mary Grace Hennesy, founder, and CEO of Grace Rock has one simple vision: to improve the world of work, by helping to harmonize the way people and technology come together to produce great things < now that is a sentence we love!!!

At VideoMyJob we do a lot of work with Talent Acquisition leaders and teams, we know that with so many different platforms it can be hard to accurately measure source of hire—so it was great to hear Mary chat about the challenge of source visibility!

Tips to shine on the Startup stage

As the MC on the startup stage this year at UNLEASH, Angie Verros had the pleasure of witnessing the many wonderful startups getting up and pitching the products and services they’ve worked so hard to create.

It’s so important for Startups (in fact all businesses) to have a clear purpose and to be able to articulate the problem they solve, and how their product solves it. This is what makes a great pitch.
